Bulova watches - Genuine American watches

1875 Joseph Bulova, a founder who had emigrated from the Czech Republic at the age of nineteen, arrived in Manhattan in 1870 to fill his world with possibilities. He opened his jewelry store on Maiden Lane in Lower Manhattan, that nucleus of the New York jewelry industry, which he called J. Bulova, and which quickly began to distinguish itself from hundreds of jewelers in the borough by its quality, innovation in technique and artistry.

In 1912, because of the demand for watches throughout America, Joseph Bulova opened his first factory, which was to supply the total volume of all the components needed to produce a wristwatch. Manufactured in the central factory building in Bienne, Switzerland, the precious movements were made using an assembly line that allowed mass production, such standardization never seen in the watchmaking world. In 1919 Bulova showed the world his first collection of precious men's wristwatches. While focusing its energy on future sales, Bulova also devoted considerable creative, marketing and advertising efforts. One groundbreaking moment for the company was the first nationally broadcast American radio commercial in 1926. "At the tone, it's eight o'clock, BULOVA Watch Time," the ad was heard by millions.

1928. Not wanting to stop at promoting just one particular product, Bulova invents the first radio watch in 1928, which is an immediate success. Bulova then produced the world's first electronic watches, many of which are still on display in train terminals around the country today.

In 1945 Bulova promised all soldiers who fought for the freedom of all U.S. citizens at the end of the war to provide jobs. The purpose of the free school was to offer disabled and all returning soldiers in need of rehabilitation, job training and employment, ensuring that they would not be abandoned upon their return and rewarded for their great sacrifice overseas. The year 2000 marked Bulova's 125th anniversary. To commemorate such a date, New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani announced that Wednesday, October 4 is officially "Bulova Day". Since 2008 the Bulova brand has been owned by Citizen Co Ltd. The models that are presented in our store are made in Japan and Switzerland.
